Norah has lobbied for equal access to broadband in rural Canada since 1999. She gained a $30,000 grant to develop a broadband business plan for Wahta Mohawk Territory and Muskoka Lakes township, and was instrumental in gaining $10-million in additional funding for broadband development in Northern Ontario. Norah remains concerned about inequality in access to affordable high speed technology.
As part of a People for Education event, Norah lobbied the provincial government for better funding for additional special education resources in Muskoka. She has also contributed to the Integra Foundation (which operates Camp Towhee in Haliburton for children with learning disabilities) and Norah herself is a parent of a Learning Disabled student.
